L’Ecusson de la famille Due____________
(Family Crest Assignment)
Assignment: Students will collaborate with French
class family members to design a “family crest” for display in the classroom.
Crests will be presented orally to the class, with each family member
introducing another family member.(Each person must
speak).
Purpose: To practice describing people and
situations orally and in writing (interpersonal, interpretive, and
presentational modes)
Directions:
1. On the poster
board provided, each family will design a crest to represent their family, and
provide information about each family member within the crest. Information
should include: name, age, family role (if chosen yet), likes and dislikes, two
physical and two personality attributes for EACH family member.
2. Be creative.
You may use “artistic license” in the design of the crest, but the crest must
fit on (or be cut from) the poster board provided AND the writing on the poster
must be entirely in French.
3. Before
beginning the project, assign a working role for purposes of this project to
each of your family members:
4. Turn in your
crest and practice your oral introductions of each other to the class. (Rubric on
back)
Each group member
will receive the same grade, which is a combined grade for both the
family crest (poster) and the oral introduction of family members.
